I’m continuing to watch the scary route of Cyclone Ian across the islands of Tonga where I was just a couple of days ago. I’ve got my fingers crossed for the people we met while we were there and I’m waiting to hear they’re OK.

We flew to and from Tonga via Auckland with Air New Zealand, AKA Air Middle Earth. Having a clever safety message has become an airline standard procedure of late and the current Hobbit tale on Air New Zealand (sorry Air Middle Earth) flights is a winner. It’s four minutes of delight, you’d watch it even if you weren’t told to.
