Emirates fly to Kabul

▲ Kabul from my Kam Air Boeing 737-200
When I flew to Afghanistan a few years ago it was on an elderly Kam Air Boeing 737-200. Well that’s soon to change, on 4 April 2013 Emirates will start daily services from Dubai to Kabul. Making Afghanistan yet another country you can fly to with just one stop in Dubai. San Francisco, London, Melbourne, you name it, a stop in Dubai and you’re there.
If you want a weekly dose of good news from Afghanistan – not all the disaster stuff – then click here and subscribe to Kabul-e-News. You’ll get regular postings on how the Afghanistan national cricket team is doing (remarkably well, watch out Ireland, coming up in December) and for the last week or two there’s been lots of news on their football success (beating India to take out the South Asia Football Federation Cup). Quite apart from reports on Emirates commencing flights to Kabul.
