Aerial Views – Northern Australia

Thursday, 17 December 2015

???????????????????????????????◄ Some of 2015’s best aerial views were from a Beechcraft Super King Air which a bunch of us chartered and flew across Northern Australia. We started at dawn from Melbourne’s Moorabbin Airport, as a group of hot air balloons drifted in from their morning flight over the city.

???????????????????????????????▲ All the way across the Kimberley amazing views pop up, like this one just north-west of the Horizontal Falls as we approached Broome.

???????????????????????????????▲ From Broome we flew south along the Western Australian coast to the Northwest Cape for swimming with the whale sharks and walks in the Cape Range National Park. We had some views of the Cape Range gorges as we descended to Learmonth Airport.

???????????????????????????????▲ Our final stop on this trip was Coober Pedy, opal mining centre and movie centre for the Beyond Thunderdome episode of the Mad Max franchise. Here we can see the mining tailings from opal mines.
