Museum of Fine Arts – Boston

I managed to depart Boston just before Hurricane Sandy hit the east coast of the USA. I was in Boston for the opening of the big new Hostelling International Boston Hostel and most of my brief stay in the city was tied up with that.

I did get to walk around the city, stroll Boston Common and spend a few hours in the very fine Museum of Fine Arts. Very expensive as well with a US$25 admission charge – a few days later I was in the National Gallery of London where the entry charge is zilch, it’s free (although donations are certainly appreciated). The Boston Museum has a wonderfully varied collection from ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman works right up to very modern art. Like I Dreamed I Could Fly by Jonathan Borofsky in the Eunice and Julian Cohen Galleria. ►
