I seriously liked Mohsin Hamid’s novel How to Get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia and although I’ve not read his other two novels – The Reluctant Fundamentalist and Moth Smoke – I have just read Discontent & Its Civilizations, a collection of ‘Dispatches from Lahore, New York and London.’

It’s an interesting mix of personal essays about life, love, children, writing and living in his three important cities, followed by a collection of his essays on Pakistan, globalization and the world post 9/11. Which includes Osama bin Laden, drones, Islam … no answers, however.
