Detroit & Whole Foods

A month ago I posted a review of Mark Binelli’s page-turning history of Detroit and some thoughts on my own connections with the city. It’s been an interesting month, to say the least, for Detroit, now the USA’s biggest city bankruptcy case. At the same time there have been stories of green shoots, turn arounds, signs of recovery. One of them being the opening of a Whole Foods supermarket in Detroit. When a city can afford a Whole Foods outlet some things must be working out?

◄ Where I live in London we’ve got a big Whole Foods just down the road and when I was in there this morning what should I see but Whole Food shopping bags noting various outlets they have around the USA. Including Detroit!
